Upon check-in, I was informed that the motel was closed but allowed to stay due to confusion. The cleanliness left much to be desired, with hair in the shower and an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. The noise from neighboring guests kept me awake all night.

Stayed in a Queen Room for three nights. Super clean and comfy, with quick access to downtown and beaches. Loved the made-to-order waffles at breakfast! Just could use a little TLC on furniture and bathroom fixtures.

It is a charming motel with friendly staff, conveniently located near transportation options and attractions!

The location is excellent, just 5 minutes from the ferry terminal. However, the room needed some repairs and was quite small.

Mixed Feelings About My Recent Stay

I had a seven-night stay and appreciated the room's amenities, including a microwave and refrigerator. However, the cleanliness of the floor really disappointed me. For future guests, I'd suggest checking with the front desk regarding room cleanliness upon arrival to avoid any issues.

The staff here were incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially Krissy, who was so accommodating with my luggage and even called when my room was ready. The room provided everything I needed like a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Bright and quiet, it made for a comfortable stay. However, the sink in my room was stained with old caulking and cigarette burns, which was off-putting. I also encountered noisy upstairs neighbors with barking dogs, affecting the overall tranquility. While the outside was well maintained, cleanliness under the bed left much to be desired. The stay was pleasant, but some areas definitely need improvement.

I was pleasantly surprised with the modern fixtures in my Queen Room, the cleanliness of the entire facility, and the helpfulness of the staff during my stay at Departure Bay Motel. It was also conveniently located near the ferry terminal.

Good air conditioning in the room helped beat the summer heat. Kitchenette options provided some convenience for meals during the stay.

Traffic noise from a busy intersection could be bothersome for light sleepers. The kitchenette had outdated and unclean items, such as a pot with peeling Teflon and dirty coffee filters. Floors in the unit had peeling boards and visible stains, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired, raising concerns about hygiene and maintenance.

I stayed one night in a Standard Double Room. The room was clean, bright, and had everything I needed like a fridge and microwave. A/C worked great, which was a lifesaver. But the floor was filthy, and I didn’t feel like walking around barefoot. Also, I noticed the staff rearranged my things while I was out, which kind of annoyed me. Still, for a night, it did the job!

i enjoyed my stay at departure bay motel. it’s very close to the ferry terminal, which made it super convenient. the queen room was a good value for the price and had all the necessities, like a fridge and microwave. also, breakfast was a delightful added bonus with made-to-order waffles!

Wi-Fi was free and fast. loved the flat-screen TV. Parking was easy. Wish for better room soundproofing.
